I have always liked to deal with the rather gloomy characters. But the reason why I wanted to try on the figure of a Harpyr in the context of my third Bookholm project was that I now wanted to deal more seriously and consciously with figural anatomys. Because since I had been rather vague about such details like anatomy, posture etc. in my earlier figures «Puk» and «Inazea», it was now more than time to turn to this unpleasant topic. A Harpyr seemed to me to be a suitable test subject here. Furthermore, I was able to combine this project with an idea I had been thinking about for a long time anyway - the mixing of two and three dimensionality, i.e. a painted background and three-dimensional elements in the foreground together with a figure.
